Callum O’Shea has segregated himself from a world that rejected him since childhood. His older brother, Arden, protected him from life…but even he can only take so much of the isolation. When a young university student offers to help with Callum’s hog problem in exchange for room and board, he’s not in a financial position to refuse. He’s surprised when she doesn’t judge him for his Tourette’s Syndrome. But he’s learned that good things rarely last. Hailey Watson tried to prove her parents wrong by being the best scientist she could be. When her research funding is cut off, her world spirals out of control. With the help of Callum and Arden, the reclusive Irish cowboys, she learns there is more to life than success at her job. But are the two hardcore cowboys capable of real love?

I decided to give this story a try as Espino came up on my Good Reads recommendation list and I thought reading about a hero who suffered from Tourette's would be an interesting read which it was. I liked how the men and woman in this story felt more evenly matched in the relationship. It's nice to read a story where it isn't the over-the-top perfect billionaire who is attracted to the overweight poor clerk (yeah right).

Why not a 4-5 star read for me:
- I wish there had been more scenes of the relationship building gradually - this could have been a much sweeter story. You get glimpses particularly of Callum's affection but there could/should have been more.
-The lack of protection during sex.
- I don't know if something happened to the Kindle download, but at the end there was this strange transition where she's suddenly in her boss' car and then he just dumps her out on the road....??
- Lastly, the price for the amount of text seemed a couple bucks too high.

I wish the author would go back and flush this book out more. I really think the premise of the story is great and I particularly loved the vulnerability of Callum.

Cowboy Outcasts Stacey Espino 9781771301855 Books Reviews

I have loved everything I have read that Stacey has written and this book Cowboy Outcasts is no different. It's a short sweet story of how love can make the future brighter.
A wonderful heart felt look at a sexy man with Tourette's Syndrome and the woman who comes to love him and his brother. The importance of family and the choices people make. I loved Callum, Arden and Hailey as they felt real and alive to me. Add some hot threesome sex and a struggle to find ones HEA and it's a great read.
Love the characters, especially having been a poor graduate student and then after school struggling to find my way into the paying world. Being able to feel for the characters make the exotic elements so much stronger!
I loved this book. Entertaining the whole way through. If I had one complaint I wish it was a little longer.
I enjoyed this book until I realized it was erotic fiction. I prefer less erotica, but it was a pretty good book.
This was my first book by this author. It was a nice little ditty and I love the premise. The story was different and unique. There were some things that I wish she would have expanded on but all in all it was good.
I have read several books by Stacey Espino and I think this may be my favorite. Not only did I love the cover but I really enjoyed the story. The combination of the characters and the story drew me in from the start. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect since one of the heroes has Tourette's Syndrome and I have never read a book that it was featured in. That was one of the things that attracted me to this book--I just love a tortured hero and the effects they have on the characters around them. Callum, Arden and Hailey brought me along on their struggle to find happiness, peace, love and acceptance in each other and I was glad for it. Oh, I just love Callum. I was entertained by their journey that included some HOT STEAMY threesome sex--my favorite!! ;) I was rooting for their HEA. Cowboy Outcasts was a short sexy read that I would definitely read again. I love the dedication in Cowboy Outcasts in which Stacey dedicates the book to her husband and youngest son who both live with Tourette's Syndrome. 4 out of 5 rating.
